Ambassador Mohamed Ali Nur (Americo) is the founder and chairman of Yasmin Foundation, a nonprofit organization established in 2010 in memory of his daughter Yasmin. With a rich career spanning decades, he served at the Central Bank of Somalia (1986–1991) before becoming the Somali Ambassador to Kenya (2007–2015). During his tenure as an ambassador, he played a pivotal role in fostering international relations and representing Somali interests abroad. In 2016, he ran for the Presidency of Somalia, reflecting his commitment to national development. Ambassador Americo is a graduate of Montgomery College and the University of Maryland. Through Yasmin Foundation, he continues his dedication to empowering Somali communities by providing access to education, healthcare, clean water, and sustainable development initiatives.
